SO BIG...4 month update

So we have a very big boy on our hands!!  We went to the doctor on August 17th and Landon weighed in at 14 lbs 10 oz and is 25.5 inches long.  He is still pretty low in the weight percentiles, but we'll take it!! 

 

At that appointment we talked a lot about the next steps and decided it is time to start adding in a little rice cereal.  The doctor wasn't worried about any allergies, because he had been taking formula and she said that if he can handle milk-based formula we should be okay for cereal.  We also got the okay to start veggis when he has learned how to eat cereal.  I am thinking I will wait with those until a little closer to 6 months!  One step at a time!!

 

So the week of August 19th was crazy for us!  Landon and I went to the Cyclone FanFest with some of my friends.  Landon and I got our picture taken with Cy, Coach Hoiberg, and Coach Rhoads.  Recruiting class of 2030 here we come!!  2030...that really makes you feel old!!

 

Monday the 20th Landon started rolling over!!  He decided to start back to front...take the hard way first, but we knew that front to back would come shortly there after because he was not a fan of being on his stomach!! 

 

Tuesday the 21st we started cereal.  I was amazed at how well he ate this!!  We have since then had very up and down days.  Especially with Daddy...Landon likes to be stubborn with dad!!  Tonight I got him to eat his whole bowl full and even made a little more! 

 

Wednesday the 22nd Landon had enough of that tummy stuff and decided to roll front to back!  Crazy, Crazy week!

 

Since then it has been pretty low key at our house.  Landon decided to be crazy and do lots of things in 3 days to impress us and then take a few weeks off!  He continues to talk and babbble like crazy and drool like a rock star!  We did get his Halloween costume in the mail this week and he is going to be SOOO CUTE, but you will have to wait until October to see that!

 

Landon started daycare on the 14th of August and has done very well.  We really like the in-home provider we picked and it seems to be working out great.  Landon is always happy when we drop him off and pick him up and she got him on a schedule real quick!  Something we were slacking at. 

 

Last night we decided to really push crib sleeping.  I'm not sure if it was harder on Landon or Mommy and Daddy.  We had been slowing transitioning from his bassinet, but it wasn't going well.  After lots of trys with towels under the sheets, and blakents under his legs, we just put him in there and hoped for the best.  Yeah, that wasn't working so well.  He was up every 45 minutes/hour.  Around 3, Matt finally gave in and put him in his bassinet, in his room.  Now tonight, knock on wood, he feel asleep hard at 8:00 and has been sleeping in his bed ever since...Maybe he wore himself out last night and gave in!! 

 

Football season is in full swing and maybe Landon will get to experience his first tailgate, no games since they are a little loud, but some fun and sun is always good!  Go CYCYLONES!!

End of Summer

So Summer is coming to an end, which means it is back to work for mommy and time for daycare for Landon.  I have been back to work part-time for a month and it is going well with Grandma and Aunt FiFi daycare!  We will see how next Tuesday goes.  I keep telling myself I'm not going to cry, but who knows when the time comes!  The last  month included our last wedding of the season, a family reunion and lots of changes for Landon.  He is growing up SO fast!! 

Landon can now hold his head up pretty steady when laying on his tummy, scoot around on his back...he will start one direction and when I come back a little later he is turned a different direction!  He is also playing a lot more and starting to grab onto things.  He loves to blow bubbles and is drooling all of the time...BIBS are FANTASTIC!!!  We got him a new toy where he lays on his back or tummy and there is a piano that he can kick with his feet.  He LOVES it!!  Definitely his favorite toy!!  At the latest wedding Landon loved to dance.  We had him shaking it and he laughed and squealed the whole time.  Landon went swimming for the first time at his cousin Tucker's birthday party.  He didn't love it, but didn't hate it either.  I think next year will be a lot more fun!

The Olympics are a favorite of mommy's so Landon has been watching them too.  He watched a lot of swimming and Michael Phelps is our favorite.  One night we propped him up and he "watched" TV for 15-20 minutes.  The colors must amaze him.  He is starting to see more and more.  He has also discovered his hands.  It is SO funny to watch him look at his fist, open it up, and then shove it in his mouth...that's what you do with your hands right?!?!?

3 Month Pictures!

We got Landon's 3 month pictures yesterday.  They are AWESOME!!  If you live in the Spencer/LeMars area I highly recommend C STARR Photography!!  Chelsi is fantastic.  Enjoy!

Weddings, Fireworks and Baptism

This was a very big week.  We went home last Friday and stayed in NW Iowa for 9 days.  This started with some very careful packing and help from uncle Luke to get it all there!!  Saturday we went to Jared and Jessica's wedding.  It was a hot one, but Landon did great.  He really likes weddings :o)  We went to Spencer for 3 days.  We tried Okoboji a bit on the 4th, but it was just too hot.  I know the weather is all anyone has been talking about, but really, heat index of 113, that is just rediculous!!  Landon did get to spend some time with his cousin Addie, who just adored him.  There are some adorable pictures below.  We then went to Remsen for some quality time with the Heidesch's and Fischer's.  Baptism was today.  Landon once again did wonderfully during church and baptism!  He was blessed to have 9 of his 10 great-grandparents at baptism.  Grandma Fear was the only one missing, but we got to go see her on Wednesday.  He also had 7 grandparents on hand!  We were quite the group!! 

As far as milestones are concerned Landon found his thumb on Monday.  He was sucking it with his finger on his nose and everything!!  I really didn't want him to be a thumb sucker, but it was pretty darn cute!  He also found his fist while visiting Great-Grandma and Grandpa Fischer on Thursday.  It is so funny to watch him look at his fist like "what the heck is this thing" and then stick it in his mouth like "oh well, it tastes good"

Monday we also go his 3 month pictures taken.  As soon as we get some I will post them.  Landon was such a Ham and Loved Chelsi!!  I highly recommend her if you are in the Spencer/LeMars area.  Check out C Starr Photography on Facebook!! 
It is hard to believe that he will be 3 months on Saturday and I start back to work next week.  At least I get to go back part-time and don't have to go full-time until August.
