Journal entry 9.8.11

OMG we're actually pregnant!!

So today Matt and I had our first ultrasound.  We had the same nurse who did our insemination so we thought that had to be good luck.  Because it is so early we did an internal ultrasound.  After all my "egg" issues I'm pretty used to these.

So she got started and 1st thing she said was "oh you're one of those" so I guess on top of all my other issues my uterus also tips back instead of forward.  It took her a little while, but we finally got to see the picture.  There is only one and a heartbeat!  Gotta be the coolest thing ever!!

The baby is 4 mm and about the size of a grain of rice.  The heartbeat was 122.  She said all looked normal and we needed to go back in 2 weeks for another.  We should be able to see a lot more then and after that appointment our miscarriage rate drops to <1%.

We also got to talk to Dr. Cooper who congratulated us and said everything looks great.  Seeing a heartbeat was awesome and also reduces the chance of miscarriage.  We have another ultrasound and he releases us to an OBGYN, but we need to send baby pictures.

That is a will do!  We owe a lot to Dr. Cooper and his staff!
